There was a tragic accident on Friday at a Hilton-affiliated luxury hotel in India where two guests were electrocuted to death while they were using the swimming pool at the Conrad Bengaluru.
One of the deaths was a Lufthansa crew member (the airline must be using the hotel), and the other was a Slovakian citizen vacationing at the property.

Here’s an excerpt of what The Hindu reported:
Two international hotel guests, including a German Lufthansa crew member and a Slovakian tourist, have died following a suspected electrocution incident in the outdoor swimming pool of the Conrad Bengaluru, a luxury property operated under the Hilton portfolio.
According to local reports, the tragedy occurred on Friday, October 30, 2026, at around 5:15 p.m. at the hotel’s third-floor swimming pool.
The victims were pulled from the water only after staff realized an active current was circulating through the pool and disconnected the main electrical feed.
The pool remains closed pending the technical report. The Halasuru police have registered a criminal case against the Conrad Bengaluru hotel management under Section 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, for causing death by negligence.
Conrad Bengaluru has issued the following statement:
We are deeply saddened by the tragic incident which occurred at Conrad Bengaluru yesterday, which led to the subsequent passing away of two guests. We offer our deepest condolences to all those impacted. The cause of the incident has not yet been established and remains subject to a comprehensive investigation by local authorities. We are offering our full support to their investigation. Our team remains available to provide all appropriate assistance to relevant authorities as their investigation continues
Conclusion
This raises the question of whether Hilton ensures its international properties are adequately inspected and adhere to local safety standards.
It is obvious that multiple things must have gone terribly wrong here if guests are dying in a swimming pool due to faulty electrical wiring.
