Hyatt and Air Canada launched a partnership in July (read more here) that includes benefits such as reciprocal fast tracks.
Then they launched an offer last week for 1.5 bonus Aeroplan miles for each USD spent at Hyatt hotels between October 14 and February 15, 2027, in addition to the World of Hyatt points you earn for the stay, and I just had my first stay posted under this offer.
You can access and register for this offer on Hyatt’s website here.

Note that you must link your Hyatt and Air Canada accounts, but you don’t need to (and you absolutely should not) change the earning preference to Aeroplan miles.
These 1.5 miles per USD are earned on top of your usual Hyatt point earnings.
Although this promotion runs until February 14 next year, you must register for this offer by November 11.
Hyatt stay posting with Air Canada Aeroplan dual accrual:
These Aeroplan miles are displayed on your Hyatt stay statements exactly like when there was a similar program feature with American Airlines.
Your online account statement includes a line that implies you earned something under this offer, but note that these are MILES, not POINTS, and they have NOT been added to your World of Hyatt account balance.
These are, in this instance, Air Canada miles that will eventually show up in your Aeroplan account.
Conclusion
Hyatt used to offer similar dual earnings with American Airlines, but that went away, and soon Hyatt is ditching American altogether and teaming up with Delta instead.
There are likely similar offers with Delta SkyMiles in the future, and you can link your World of Hyatt with several airlines, just like you can do with Marriott.
I actually have quite a few Hyatt stays during this promo period, and will gladly take the few thousand “free” Aeroplan miles I will earn from this promotion, but they don’t sway me to have a single additional stay that wouldn’t have gone to Hyatt, as getting a 2% to 3% additional rebate in the form of miles is not significant enough.
