IHG with Chase launched a refreshed line of cobranded credit cards earlier this month (read more here), and there are benefits that Chase has NOT communicated to existing cardholders at all.

Existing IHG Premier credit cardholders are eligible for a $100 statement credit both in 2026 and 2027 for a direct airline purchase of $250 or more.
You can access IHG’s page for cobranded cards here.

I am actually in Chile right now and decided to visit part of Atacama where I haven’t been before.
The ticket above was purchased in the early morning hours of Friday.

The charge posted this morning to the credit card along with the $100 credit.
Conclusion
Btw, I really hate LATAM’s website, and I rarely buy anything else directly from the airlines than award tickets.
First, LATAM’s website wouldn’t accept the payment because I was in Chile and was using a credit card issued elsewhere.
Then I tethered using the cell phone where my IP was somewhere in the States, and then Chase blocked the transaction (you should NOT put any other charges on these cards than IHG stays), and I had to clear it.
I finally got it purchased on the third attempt.
You could also have bought the cheapest ticket for the first segment, then used $30 to upgrade to Premium Economy (using PlusGrade), and done the same for the return, or bid $10 when it would have processed within 12 hours of departure.
But overall, burning this $100, which Chase doesn’t want you to be aware of, was a rather painless experience.
