Hyatt and Air Canada launched a partnership in July (read more here) that includes benefits like reciprocal tier fast tracks.
Then they launched an offer last week for 1.5 bonus Aeroplan miles for each USD spent at Hyatt hotels between October 14 and February 15, 2027. These Aeroplan miles are in addition to the World of Hyatt points you earn for the stay.

Note that you must link your Hyatt and Air Canada accounts, but you don’t need to (and you absolutely should not) change the earning preference to partner miles.
Although this promotion runs until February 14 next year, you must register for this offer by November 11.
I had my first stay under this offer post to my Hyatt account on Wednesday (a day after checking out), and the miles appeared in my Aeroplan account on Friday, but they were dated to the Hyatt posting date, not when they were actually deposited.

These Aeroplan miles appear on your Hyatt stay statements the same way they did when there was a similar program feature with American Airlines.
Your online account statement includes a line that implies you earned something under this offer, but note that these are MILES, not POINTS, and they have NOT been added to your World of Hyatt account balance.

Conclusion
Hyatt used to offer similar dual earnings with American Airlines, but that went away, and soon Hyatt is ditching American altogether and teaming up with Delta instead.
It is unclear what level of partnership this Delta one will be, but I am sure there will be similar bonus-mile offers, and probably fast tracks as well.
There is no downside to linking your Hyatt account with multiple airlines, as there are always bonus points and miles offers to take advantage of down the road.
Looking at my upcoming stays later this year and early 2027, I’ll probably earn somewhere between 5K to 10K Aeroplan bonus miles from these stays.
I use Aeroplan as a “transfer-and-burn” program, since I don’t credit flights there at all, but convert credit card points as needed. These miles are useful at times, though not as good as they were a few years back.
