Marriott acquired citizenM hotel brand last year (read more here), and quickly completed the integration of hotels into Marriott Bonvoy by late November 2025 (read more here).
citizenM has its own paid discount program, mycitizenM+, which Marriott will close to new enrollments and renewals effective November 17, 2026.

When does my membership end?
From 17 November 2026, mycitizenM+ memberships will no longer be available to purchase or renew.
If your annual membership is set to renew automatically before 17 November 2026, it will renew as usual for one final year.

Conclusion
This shouldn’t have surprised mycitizenM+ members, as the benefits overlap with Bonvoy.
It seems that Marriott doesn’t like these paid programs that complement its guest loyalty program, unlike IHG (Ambassador) and Accor (several).
