British Airways is about to make another April Fools’ Day change to “The Club” that, in 2027, changes the number of Tier Points required for Silver and Gold tiers.

The number of Tier Points required for Silver increases by 500 from 7,500 to 8,000, and Gold by 1,000 from 20,000 to 21,000.
You can access BA here.
BA’s “Announcement”:
Your Club membership starts at the Blue tier, and if you earn enough tier points in each collection year between 1 April and 31 March, you can progress to Bronze, Silver or Gold. From 1 April 2027, the tier points requirements are:
Blue: 0 tier points
Bronze: 3,500 tier points
Silver: 8,000 tier points
Gold: 21,000 tier points
BA apparently made the change too early on its website, as the airline usually pushes out negative information between Christmas and the New Year, like when they significantly devalued the program a couple of years ago:

Conclusion
I have bailed out of BA’s “enhanced” The Club, as it really doesn’t make any sense for anyone other than those who fly on very expensive tickets on “other people’s money”.
The Avios you earn from BA are hard to use unless you have availability waivers (jokers) or upgrade vouchers that book into revenue fare classes, and even then, you get hit with scam charges (read: carrier/fuel surcharges) that can run into the thousands.
When they rolled out the bomb last time, I was within reasonable distance of lifetime Gold and decided to go for it (lifetime Oneworld Emerald).
