Amex and other cards in several markets offer cashback for spending in specific markets, and these are often targeted to specific accounts. What’s available for me may not be available for you, and vice versa.
Two offers popped up on my Amex Platinum card in the US this week, and both (IHG and OMNI) are valid until December 31, 2026.

This cashback applies to all OMNI hotels in the United States and Canada.
Conclusion
I thought I could use the IHG cashback when I saw the headline, but it’s unlikely unless I decide to stay at an IHG hotel in the UK next month for a night.
My success this year has been with Accor and Hyatt cashback offers, both of which were for $100 each.
The goal of these offers is for you to switch your stays or change your buying behavior. I only take advantage of them if I don’t need to change my behavior (and I didn’t in these two instances).
