British Airways The Club April Fools’ Day 2027 Changes

British airways the club changes 2027 email 1

British Airways has started sending out very confusing emails about changes that will take effect from April Fools’ Day 2027.

We already covered yesterday the changes to the Tier Points required for reaching Silver and Gold tiers, but those are not the only things “evolving”.

You can access BA here.

The Tier Point Requirements from April 1, 2027:

Bronze: 3,500 Tier Points

Silver: 8,000 Tier Points (+500)

Gold: 21,000 Tier Points (+1,000)

Gold Guest List: 70,000 Tier Points (+5,000)

Gold Guest List Renewal: 45,000 Tier Points (+5,000)

Gold Upgrader Voucher Requirements from April 1, 2027:

37,000 Tier Points (+2,000) to earn Gold Upgrade Voucher for 2

53,000 Tier Points (+3,000) to earn 2 Gold Upgrade Vouchers for 1

Bonus Tier Points per Fare Cabin & Fare Class (BA Marketed)

Note that bonus Tier Points earned for short-haul economy or business, and long-haul economy, remain unchanged.

British Airways cannot even get the personalization correct, as I need ZERO Tier Points to qualify for Gold status.

I have reached Lifetime Gold with the program that BA surely wants to “enhance” or “evolve” away as well.

Conclusion

These changes are making the “evolving” The Club extremely complicated.

I wish we had a simpler, easier-to-understand system for Tier Points based on the cabin purchased and miles flown (yes, we had it).

This system works for those that fly on expensive premium or even economy tickets (usually on other people’s money).

As I have stated before, I bailed out of “The Club” when it moved to revenue based, but I was able to bank lifetime Gold before, and I am glad that I did, as I don’t want to have anything to do with this mess.
